Financial Aid
Rutgers University–Camden offers financial aid packages for qualifying undergraduate and graduate students that include scholarships, awards, grants, loans, work-study, and fellowships.
Types of Financial Aid
Grants
Grants—including Rutgers, federal, and state grants—are awarded to students based solely on financial need. To be considered for any Rutgers grants, you will need to complete the FAFSA.
Scholarships
A variety of interdisciplinary programs at Rutgers–Camden that feature studies focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Loans
Rutgers students and their families might need to supplement their education finances. Several types of loans are available, so consider all options and find the loan that makes the most sense for you.
Student Employment
Through the Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) and the Job Location and Development Program (JLDP), the Rutgers Student Employment Office helps students find jobs to earn their own money and gain work skills.
New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application
Through the New Jersey Tuition Equality Act, New Jersey Dreamers who are enrolled in eligible New Jersey colleges and universities can apply for state financial aid.
NJ SNAP
Information about hands-on education not only in the classroom, but also the real world through civic engagement, internships, learning abroad courses, research, and more.
FAFSA Application
Completing the FAFSA annually is how students apply to receive federal grants, loans, merit-based scholarships from Rutgers–Camden, and work-study offers. FAFSA applications also determine if New Jersey students are eligible for state aid. All students are encouraged to submit a FAFSA every year.

Through Bridging the Gap, supplemented by the Garden State Guarantee, you can greatly decrease or completely avoid student loan debt while working toward a Rutgers degree.
Office of Financial Aid
Assist students in planning for and meeting expenses associated with attendance at the university.

Helps students with tuition payment plans, processes refunds, and provides other services related to students’ accounts.
NJ SNAP
Food assistance to families with low incomes to help them buy groceries through a benefits card accepted in most food retail stores and some farmers markets.

CAMDEN FELLOWS (plus community & specialty service)
The Camden Fellows is a support program for students accepted into the Rutgers University – Camden campus who are current or former foster care youth with lived experience in the child welfare system as an adolescent.
- We work to provide a supportive community on the RU-C campus where the Camden Fellows cohort is encouraged and celebrated as they reach their full potential. This includes, but is not limited to:
- A nurturing environment where fellows can expect to receive quality and supportive coaching on a one-on-one basis
- Educational workshops to help fellows realize their educational, career, and personal goals
- Access to funds for textbooks
- Assistance in accessing additional resources and opportunities such as housing and internships
- Engagement in a community of supportive peers and adults
